I know Thais who get the same run around by taxi drivers so I’d advise them to do that too.

The only thing I don’t want to run across is a pissed off taxi driver. I’ve battled with one, I don’t want another.

Oh, now we are on the subject of their taxi license… how often do you get a taxi driver who looks like his photo? Not very often when it’s a holiday… because while they are upcountry, some mate is taking over the wheel. And some drivers even rotate through taxis… difficult.

I found it cuts their annoying testing small talk to a minimum and gets you where you want to go directly, and if they do stuff around you can launch an official complaint that may even be listened to since the taxi company does have the power to discipline it’s own drivers, unlike the mall management
