Funny post. Is there really nothing much going on in Bangkok, politically? The international/Asian media seems to be playing things up quite a bit.

Hi there - I just randomly surfed by your blog while planning for a 10-week stay in Bangkok. I'm a PhD candidate from York University (Toronto) about to embark on the Bangkok portion of my research fieldwork (in additional to Ho Chi Minh, Singapore, and Yangon). I'm looking for contacts and friendly faces (within and without academia) to say hello to while I'm there. Overseas fieldwork is often terribly alienating and lonely. Drop me a line if you have a bit of time?

Cheers,

Serene
