Hi there – I just randomly surfed by your blog while planning for a 10-week stay in Bangkok. I’m a PhD candidate from York University (Toronto) about to embark on the Bangkok portion of my research fieldwork (in additional to Ho Chi Minh, Singapore, and Yangon). I’m looking for contacts and friendly faces (within and without academia) to say hello to while I’m there. Overseas fieldwork is often terribly alienating and lonely.
