Ha! Thanks Florian, I agree – malls back home in Canada are awful, dingy, sad, affairs, definitely places to be avoided.
Central’s properties are sort of like the McDonalds of malls – you know what you’ll get, no surprises, nothing weird. Boring…but that’s what you want.
I know the Pinklao pin is too far south, but the map didn’t go that far north, unless I zoomed way out. It’s my artistic interpretation of the city’s malls. 🙂

I wouldn’t wanna go to a Mall in EU or NAM, but Asian Malls are different. In fact I would call MBK to Ratchaprasong a major tourist attraction.

That said most of the time we wanna get malled, we just go to our local Mall Central Pinklao. Central has “run-of-the malls” all across town.

P.S.
Your pointer for Central Pinklao is way too far south. It’s almost spot on for the royal barge museum 😉

In reply to John. Hi John, fair enough, they're not for everyone. I like them, but it is a shame when they become the only place to shop and hang out. Having malls is fine - but having malls at the expense of local markets isn't the way to go.

I am someone who is really not keen on malls. I would much prefer shopping in the street marketing! I just cant deal with all loud music and having to walk so far. They seem to be set up in such a way that it takes as long as possible to get from A to B passing as many mobile phone and gadget shops as possible to tempt you to spend money on stuff you don’t need.
