Traveling is a hell of a thing. Good on your friend for slogging it out. I'm a native NYer and was in Munich during September of 2001. We couldn't have made it home if we wanted to and I think that fact has colored how I travel now. Just keep moving and you're bound to find the awesome. Give up and you could fall just short of it and never know you missed it at all. Not being able to return home led me to one of my favorite cities in the world, Brugge, Belgium.

Hell, I leave on Saturday for a trip to Singapore and BKK, a trip that will determine if I pack up and move to BKK. Just keep moving.

Great post.
